gabber ("gabber", "we", "us") helps you share availability and jump into real conversations with friends. This Privacy Policy explains what we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.

Introduction

We respect your privacy. We collect only what we need to run the app.

Data we collect

  • Account data: email address, username, display name.
  • Optional local time sharing: if you turn it on, we store your time zone identifier so friends can see your current local time.
  • Social graph data: friend requests, friendships, blocks.
  • Availability data: status and optional intention text.
  • Call requests: caller and host identifiers, room name, request status.
  • Device data: push notification tokens and preferences.
  • Analytics: website visitor metrics via Vercel Web Analytics and product usage events via PostHog.
  • Diagnostics: crash and error reports via Sentry.

How we use data

  • Show your current local time on your profile if you opt in.
  • Provide core features like availability, calls, and friend management.
  • Send push notifications you choose to receive.
  • Maintain safety features such as reporting and blocking.
  • Improve reliability and performance with diagnostics.
  • Measure app health and product usage (for example, active users and feature adoption).

Analytics and tracking

We use Vercel Web Analytics for website visitor metrics and PostHog for first-party product analytics. We do not use analytics data for cross-app tracking, do not sell personal data, and do not share data with data brokers.

Local time sharing

If you turn on local time sharing, your profile can show your current local time. For this feature, we store your time zone identifier. We do not use Core Location or collect your precise location for this feature. You can turn this off any time in Settings > Privacy. When you turn it off, we stop showing local time and clear the stored time zone identifier.

Voice and video

gabber uses LiveKit for real-time audio and video. We do not record or store calls.

Sharing information

We do not sell personal information. We share data with service providers that help us deliver gabber (Supabase, LiveKit, Sentry, PostHog, Vercel). They only process data on our behalf.

Retention and deletion

We retain data until you delete your account. You can delete your account at any time in the app.

  • Manage local time sharing in Settings.
  • Manage analytics preferences in Settings.
  • Manage push notification preferences in Settings.
  • Delete your account in Settings.

Children's data

gabber is not intended for children under 13.
